DTotD: Keeping the spirit of the De Jong tackle alive

It’s been a while since Nigel De Jong last maimed an opponent, but there are others out there keeping the tradition of foot-in-chest tackles alive.

Here we have a player going for a 50-50 ball who decides he would much rather jump into the sky like a proud Phoenix and kick his opponent in the chest. He succeeds in that goal, sending his victim to the ground in pain and earning a yellow card for his efforts.

Somewhere, Nigel De Jong is completely oblivious to this incident.
