Wednesday’s Three Stars: Price stands tall; so does Myers
No. 1 Star: Carey Price, Montreal Canadiens
Not only did Price stop all 25 shots he faced versus the Carolina Hurricanes — he picked up an assist on Michael Cammalleri’s game-winner. Everything went right for the Canadiens. They shut out the Canes, 4-0, despite missing four regular defenseman; they got PK Subban his first goal on his 52nd shot; even Scott Gomez, who was briefly tied in with Price in scoring, got an assist.
No. 2 Star: Marian Hossa, Chicago Blackhawks
After thirty minutes of fairly even hockey, Hossa went off versus the Canucks, assisting on three of the Blackhawks final four goals to stake Chicago to a 5-1 rout at Rogers Arena. He made beautiful plays on all three goals, but his effort on the backbreaking 3-1 goal, as he outraced and outmuscled Alex Edler to start a play that Jonathan Toews finishes, stands out:
